How To Pack A Diaper Bag And Accessory Tote

Diaper Bag Checklist: What to Pack in a Diaper Bag And Accessory Tote

What to Pack in Your Diaper Bag

The most important thing to remember when packing your diaper bag is that it doesn’t need to be heavy.

  • A good rule of thumb is to make sure there are no more items in your diaper bag than you could fit into a backpack.
  • If you do need something bigger, try to find a place to stash it in your car trunk or another vehicle.

When choosing a diaper bag, look for one that fits comfortably in your hand and can easily be carried over your shoulder.

You don’t want to lug around a big diaper bag that weighs down your shoulders while you’re walking around town.

Look for a bag that includes a changing mat, changing pad, wipes, diapers, a bottle warmer, and maybe even a hooded jacket.

Some bags include a stroller strap so you can carry your bag across your chest.

There are many different styles of diaper bags, including messenger style bags, crossbody bags, totes, duffle bags, and daypacks.

There are even diaper bags designed specifically for overnight trips. Whatever type of bag you choose, just make sure it meets your needs.

What should you pack in a diaper bag?

The above list of essentials is what I like to call my “essential items.” I’ve been carrying this little kit around since my daughter was born. While I’m sure there are many things you could add to it, here are some things that I think every parent needs to carry.

I know that having a good supply of diapers, wipes and diaper rash cream is important.

But I want to make sure that parents don’t forget about other necessities.

Here are some handy tips to help you keep your baby clean and healthy while traveling.

Diaper Bag + Accessory Tote Essentials

• Diapers.

You’ll need one diaper for each two hours you’re out, plus a few extras just to be sure.

• Wipes.

Wet wipes make cleaning up easier—but don’t forget to bring some dry ones too. They’re great for wiping down surfaces like strollers, changing tables, car seats, toys, and anything else babies might touch.

• Changing table liners.

For those times when you don’t have access to a changing table, use cloth napkins to cover furniture and protect floors.

• Diaper Bag Add-ons.

Going out with your baby can sometimes feel like you’re trying to juggle too many balls at once.

You’ve got your baby, you’ve got your stroller, you’ve got your purse and keys, you’ve got everything else you need…and now you’ve got to find a place to park all those things.

And while there’s no magic formula for getting everything you need into one bag, here are some tips to make sure you don’t forget anything essential.

Alternate Outfit for babies

• Diaper Bag + Accessory Tote Extras.

  • • Placemat. If you’re packing lunch for the family, why not pack one too? A reusable placemat makes cleanup easier and cuts down on plastic waste.
  • • Aspirator. When your little one is teething or just getting over a cold, it helps keep those runny noses away.
  • • Ear syringe.
  • • Diapers.
  • • Wipes.
  • • Breast pump.
  • • Nipple cream.
